TMI HOSPITALITY - JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Accounts Payable Specialist

REPORTS TO: Property Accounting Manager

LOCATION: TMI Hospitality Corporate Office

DEPARTMENT: Property Accounting

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY: Completes clerical accounting tasks to support the accounting function. Typical duties may include: checking for/assessing tax, nonemployee compensation, processing invoices & research.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

100% Prepares & enters invoices for payment

* Updates department spreadsheets, lists and/or procedures.
* Prioritizes invoices according to importance and due date.
* Reviews invoices for approval, tax and 1099 tracking.
* Enters invoices for payment.
* Processes draws for construction and capital projects -TMI Development Company.
* Creates lien waivers and supplier lists.
* Statement and phone call research from hotels and vendors.
* P-card auditing and communication.
* Enters and verifies some TMI Development Company general ledger related entries when closing jobs.
* Runs TMI Development Company final reports for completed jobs.
* Completes other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Associates degree from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of organization.

MATH ABILITY:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

MENTAL DEMANDS:

Repetitive job requiring some mental effort and some organization and planning.

SOCIAL CONTEXT:

Minimal contact with employees, clients and public. Requires average poise and tact in presentation of materials. Minimal access to confidential information.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Normal 40 hour work weeks with seasonal overtime demands. Possible minimal (less than 5%) travel required.

COMPUTER OPERATIONS:

Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, specialized software (accounting, human resources, etc.)
