Position Description:

Position Description:The Department of Civil Engineering at North Dakota State University (NDSU) invites application for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in the area of Transportation Engineering beginning Fall 2012. Special consideration will be given to candidates with a strong focus on transportation infrastructure sustainability including but not limited to: sustainable infrastructure rehabilitation, infrastructure sensor systems, intelligent transportation systems, and energy i transportation systems.

Responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate teaching, advising students, scholarly activities, and involvement in college, university, and professional service. Development of a sponsored research program is required.

The department has enjoyed a rapid growth in competitive research expenditure that includes four recent NSF Career Awards. Our students have won several national competitions including six national steel bridge championship awards.

Minimum Qualifications:

- B.S. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering.
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally and appropriately with colleagues, students, and staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Professional engineering registration is highly desirable.
- Preference will be given to those with an established record of research and teaching experiences.
