This position is responsible to provide telephone coverage during non-business hours for Basin Electric, its member systems and others to coordinate response to situations including power outages, fires, property damage, criminal incidents, emergency medical incidents, etc. Primarily responsible to answer telephone calls for Basin Electric and member systems during non-business hours in an incoming call center environment high call volume periods Identify customers, verify information and input related information of all incoming calls and activities on computerized systems using Windows based applications Required Skills Requires the ability to frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally stand, walk, climb, bend and kneel; and manual dexterity skills for frequent use of keyboard/computer. Must be able to hear and have good color vision. Must be able to act quickly to make decisions following procedures, relay vital information and coordinate resources. Must be able to perform extensive work at a control console with very little outside contact, and have the ability to perform work in stressful situations. This position will be required to work between 12 and 40 hours each week, as needed. The incumbents will be scheduled to work primarily 4 p.m. to midnight, Monday through Friday. The incumbents will also be scheduled to work 3 out of 4 weekends per month and most holidays. Weekend and holiday work will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or 4 p.m. to midnight. These positions will begin as soon as possible and could last up to 18 months. Required Experience Must have grammar and communication skills at a level normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma. The incumbent must have the ability to assist callers and visitors in a professional manner at a level normally acquired through two years of customer service or office experience.
