Responsibilities
Increases premium volume through the retention of existing accounts and acquisition of new profitable business accounts.
Retains profitable business by providing effective quality service to policyholders including total insurance planning consisting of analyzing existing insurance, assessing needs and meeting those needs through the sale of Sentry products with a strong emphasis on cross-selling and account completion.
Conducts policy audits, which involves a periodic review of the adequacy of present insurance coverages.
Calls on and pursues all Focus Market leads assigned to the geographic territory.
Utilizes SMART System to track and record all prospecting and proposal activity.
Maintains a working relationship with any local or state Focus Market associations located in the territory.
Field underwrites new business according to company policies and procedures.
Participates in loss prevention activities by inspecting the risk to determine eligibility and to assure company standards are met.
Advises company on market trends and the product needs of policyholders.
Conducts regular policyholder audits through a periodic review of the adequacy of present exposures and insurance coverages.
Refers the policyholder to the appropriate claims center in the event of loss.
Contacts policyholder for remittance of late premiums.
Reviews the Corporate Sales Home Page daily for current product and procedure information as well as announcements and incentives.
Performs other job-related duties requiring the same general knowledge, skills and degree of responsibility commensurate with assigned level.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
0-2 years of related work experience.
Strong communication, analytical, and math skills.
Knowledge of effective selling techniques and previous sales experience preferred.
Background in technical insurance (e.g., rates, coverage, etc.) preferred.
Knowledge of SBP Focus Markets preferred.
Previous company experience to provide familiarity with company policies and procedures beneficial.
Ability to meet travel requirements of the job.
Selection to this job requires a valid driver s license in addition to having and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle report, if assigned a company car.
Ability to work some evening and weekend hours.
Compensation and Benefits
The starting salary includes a base and has bonus and commissions potential.
