POSITION SUMMARY

The role of the Fund Development Director will be to develop the strategic plan and implementation of the Foundation s charitable giving programs to raise funds necessary to improve the health and lives of those served by the various Trinity Health communities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Establish the strategic direction of the foundation s programs to include major gifts, planned gifts, corporate and foundation giving.

2. Evaluate trends in philanthropic giving, estate planning and tax implications of both thereby developing both short term and long range plans and goals for fund development based upon broad corporate goals and growth objectives.

3. Cultivate, and solicit major gift prospects/donors. Maintain a portfolio of 100 -125 major gift prospects.

4. Will identify, define and develop funding sources to support existing and planned program activities as well as coordinate the development writing and submission of grant proposals to third party entities for the Foundation.

5. Organize, design, review and/or conduct project studies to produce operational improvements for the foundation. Will review existing programs and aggressively seek to develop new programs to enhance the foundation on a continuing basis.

6. Create a system to monitor and manage, on an on-going basis the marketing, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of the funds developed through the TH Foundation.

7. With the assistance of HR recruit a group of individuals that will be able to build and sustain a planned giving program.

8. Establish and maintain satisfactory donor and public relations through direct and delegated contacts with representative individuals or groups.

9. Ensure that the highest quality of service is being promoted through the mission of Trinity Health to the customers we serve.

10. Develop and recommend department operating budget and ensures that department operates within budget.

11. Represent Trinity Health at state and local meetings related to Foundation development.

12. Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in the field of fund development.

13. Participate in committee meetings as required. May attend and serve on professional/civic service organizations as hospital representative

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

All other appropriate duties as they relate to the overall management of the department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Educational Requirements

o BS in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field

o Master s degree preferred

o CFRE, FAHP certification a plus

Experience Requirements

o Sufficient previous Fund Development

o Experience in Health Care

o Capital Campaign experience

o Experience in methodologies particularly major and planned gifts

o Achieved major gifts in excess of $1 million per year
