JOB SUMMARY:
The Fargo VA Health Care System is currently recruiting for a fulltime Housekeeping Aid Supervisor to work 2nd Shift: 3:30pm to Midnight, Monday through Friday. There is a night shift differential that will be in addition to the listed hourly wage.

DUTIES:
The Housekeeping Aid Supervisor plans weekly and monthly work schedules and establishes deadlines, priorities and the numbers of employees to do the work. The supervisor monitors performance standards and initiates formal appraisals of all employees supervised. Assigns projects and explains work requirements, methods, and procedures as required. Instructs employees on the proper use of equipment, chemicals, supplies and methods. Consults with management on matters of policy which have not been clearly defined. Maintains quality/quantity work records. Participates in both formal and on-the-job training of new and regular personnel, and orients new employees.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Your background must demonstrate experience in a variety of cleaning duties, such as sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors; cleaning surfaces such as light fixtures, venetian blinds, and countertops; and cleaning restroom facilities including toilets, baths, and sinks.
PHYSICAL EFFORT : The position requires performance of work which involves light physical effort, such as that involved in using vacuum cleaners and dry mops; continually standing, bending, stooping and reaching; frequently lifting and emptying waste baskets; frequently pushing carts loaded with waste; and lifting and carrying items weighing up to 20 pounds. Also performs work which involves moderate to heavy physical effort, such as required to move heavy equipment and furniture, i.e., heavy industrial vacuum cleaners, heavy duty floor scrubbers and buffers, couches, beds, etc., and lifting, carrying and/or moving items weighing up to 40-50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS : Usually works indoors in areas which normally have adequate heat, light, and ventilations. Will be exposed to vibration from heavy equipment and to skin irritations from strong cleaning solutions used in stripping floors, etc., as well as subject to cuts and bruises. Continually exposed to dust, dirt, and disagreeable odors, and is frequently exposed to organic material which may be contaminated and/or infectious and require special handling.
EXPERIENCE : A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume or OF-612. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. The potential eligibles are then rated against the remainder of the questions. The screen-out element for this position is Ability to perform the duties of a Housekeeping Aid Supervisor without more than normal supervision.
