Position Summary Information

Position Description:

Open rank faculty.
Teaching, scholarship, and service will be in accordance with the Department of Nursing workload policy; serve on at least one nursing department, college, and University committee; provide appropriate advisement to prospective and professional nursing students and participate in the college and university advisement process; develop clinical learning activities and clinical experience placements as assigned for nursing students; participate in curriculum development and on-going program improvement through assessment activities and quality improvement strategies; maintain an active research scholarly program; seek funding to support research/scholarly activities; Disseminate results of scholarly activities through publication in refereed journals and presentations at professional meetings; participate in any special projects or activities as assigned by the Chair of the Department of Nursing or the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Nursing & Allied Sciences; maintain high standards of professional and ethical behavior; respect and abide by the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of the College and established by the faculty where honesty, integrity, and collegiality guide all interactions with students, faculty, staff, administration, and the public; develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, faculty, employees, patients, and students affiliated with the clinical agencies, other nursing programs, and the university; demonstrate in communication and in conduct respect for others in a kind, courteous, and professional manner; promote and maintain a professional image; participate in professional associations at local, region, and national levels; support the nursing department and the college through participate in faculty meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master s Degree in Nursing; certification as family nurse practitioner; eligible for RN licensure in North Dakota; excellent communication and collaboration skills. Effective oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Doctor in Nursing Practice or PhD; Two years or more of experience in clinical practice; academic and clinical experience in family nurse practitioner program; experience with educational technology and distance education; graduate and/or undergraduate teaching experience; evidence of scholarly advanced clinical practice.
