Great Plains Frozen Foods

Great Plains Frozen Foods is a privately held, North Dakota-based manufacturer of a high end line of gourmet pasta and sauces to the foodsevice industry. A relatively new (6 plus yrs) but fast growing organization, Great Plains is seeking an experienced, hands-on, sales professional to continue its rapid growth and success. This home-based position will report to the CEO and be responsible for sales development throughout the Midwest and western part of the US. Principal responsibilities will include:

* The maintenance and further growth of existing product lines to the current customer base.

* The development of new business with selected regional and national chain accounts.

* The identification of new product ideas and the development of strategies to promote new products to new and existing accounts.

* Develop price and distribution method recommendations to senior management for all new business opportunities.

* Manage a small broker network and maintain a productive working relationship with Amazatto Foods and Marketing, the latter a key broker representing US Foodservice Corporation.

The ideal candidate will possess an entrepreneurial spirit; be knowledgeable of the frozen food industry; experienced calling on national accounts; able to create budgets; maintain a computerized customer and prospect data base and sufficiently analytical in order to consistently track industry and competitor trends and practices.

This position is one of two within the company with direct sales responsibilities. As such, the selected candidate must demonstrate a solid track record of developing new business and be able to articulate a strategy for same going forward.

As indicated, this position can be home-based. Necessary office equipment will be provided. The company offers a competitive base salary in the high five figures plus a performance-based incentive plan. In addition, the company provides a health plan administered by Blue Cross Blue Shield, Vacation pay plan, sick days, life insurance etc. A contributory dental, disability and vision plan can be purchased separately.
