Description:
Performs skilled work at the journeyman level in the maintenance and repair of traffic signals and traffic control systems, whiteway systems, electronic signal systems, and associated electronic equipment. Work involves the application of technical knowledge and skill in order to maintain electronic control devices, computer networks, whiteway systems and other street light control devices. Incumbents in this position work independently in performing their duties. Assignments are made in the form of written or oral instructions and may be accompanied by sketches, schematics, or blueprints.

Qualifications:
High school diploma (GED) or technical/trade school; along with three years experience in electrical, electromechanical or electronics work at the journeyman level ; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Preference will be given to candidates with Work Zone Safety Certificate, level 1 and/or Traffic Signal Technician certification as administered by the International Municipal Signal Association. These certifications are NOT required at time of hire.
Special Requirements:
Prior to the job posting closing date, applicants must possess a valid Class B North Dakota driver s permitwith air brake endorsement OR a valid Class B driver s license with air brake endorsement.
Must be able to attain a level 1 Work Zone Safety Certificate. Must be able to attain certification for a Traffic Signal Technician as administered by the International Municipal Signal Association.
Miscellaneous:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. No sponsorships considered. Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
