We are looking for a Manager to help oversee our Deal Desk team and join us in driving success across all lines of business. The Deal Desk team is the key partner to the EMEA Sales team at LinkedIn. As part of this team, the Deal Desk Manager will be responsible for thoroughly understanding the sales process and partnering with our sales teams as they close deals to ensure that deals follow proper revenue, legal, and operational guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage a team of Strategists and Senior Strategists
  • Lead through compassionate management and inspire a level of team excellence through a deep understanding of an individual’s personal development and career goals
  • Be able to provide constructive event-based feedback and deploy effective performance improvement plans
  • Consistently lead through our LinkedIn values and culture, making team members aware and appreciate the common manifestations
  • Set the standards, demonstrate the standards and hold the team accountable for excellence
  • Advocate for the Deal Desk team and help build and improve the brand of the team
  • Prepare effective trainings or coaching that help improve team efficiency, productivity, customer satisfaction or flawless program management
  • Serve as a cross-functional lead for core sales team leadership and business partner teams (Sales, Solutions, Marketing, Finance, Product and Legal)
  • Take on extra-curricular projects to support Deal Desk leadership in making material improvement to our LinkedIn business process or operations
  • Learn the most common components and best practices of LinkedIn Products, LinkedIn workflows, systems and execution
  • Know the appropriate SMEs that need to be leveraged to create a happy customer experience and execute programs efficiently
  • Manage sales support tickets, handle escalated concerns and follow up to ensure positive resolution
  • Drive performance targets for the Deal Desk team and keep stakeholders updated on performance
  • Define and implement operational strategy for the team and broader group
  • Identify and drive improvements in how we support the sales teams
  • Define career path and performance standards for Strategists, Sr. Strategists and Lead Strategists within Deal Desk team
  • Build team structure, recognize and support growth opportunities through enhancing capabilities within the team.
  • Promote a growth mindset and coach and mentor talent within your team, helping team up-level both hard and soft skills

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in customer experience, account management or professional services
  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • 1+ years of experience working with Sales and other cross functional teams on complex programs
  • 1+ years of experience of SaaS and/or Media sales exposure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Management/Business or similar
  • Experience working in a client-facing role, including ability to build deep stakeholder relationships
  • Familiarity with common CRM systems and tools such as Salesforce and Dynamics and an understanding of Order Management
  • Basic understanding of or willingness to learn revenue recognition rules in order to read and understand various sales agreements to the extent required to extract relevant information
  • Natural problem-solver: comfortable with data and ambiguity; able to both delve into the details and operational tactics, and engage meaningfully on the big picture or overall strategy
  • Proactive and passionate about results: independently capable of seeking information, solving conceptual problems, corralling resources and delivering results in challenging situations to satisfy our customers
  • Leadership: strong team leadership and project management skills and ability to mobilize teams towards a common goal
  • Initiative and ownership: ability to act with limited oversight on day-to-day basis, balancing multiple priorities
  • High-energy, team-first attitude: motivated to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment to help our growing business
  • Effective communications: excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex thoughts and strategies into simple, actionable recommendations
  • Executive presence: experience working closely with senior executives to solve challenging business problems; Ability to credibly and compellingly present and debate recommendations with senior leadership
